ARCHITECTURE NOTEBOOK
Project Type:
Hand Drawing, Writing, Book & Content Design (Adobe InDesign)
Date:
August, 2024
This course was dedicated to designing a book that reflected the concepts in the Tuabman architectural modules. I had never designed a book before or used Adobe's InDesign software, so I had to quickly learn through experimentation and peer feedback how to do so efficiently.
I found that drafting the writing and sorting the content before inserting it into InDesign made the process much smoother. The advice that guided my book was to design it with reference to architecture books and magazines. When looking closely at their layout, I learned that white space and simplicity make it easier to follow and maintain attention on the content.
Overall, I gained exposure to the fundamentals of how architecture is taught at Tuabman as well as how to efficiently create and organize content.

We were encouraged to use sketches and writing to take notes on each week's lecture, learning to record information more visually.
I practiced artistic expression through observational drawing and a diagram to reflect important aspects in my life. This intertwined architecture and identity.

An example of learning to lay out content so there's hierarchy and clarity throughout the spread.
